Q: Can I add a page or pages to the realtor set package site or the dance package site?
A: We can do anything you want. Just understand that the price of the set package is based on the content of the site being "set" -- no changes, except for, contact information, and minor text changes.
If we add a page to this set site, we would also have to change the navigation and links on probably all of the pages of the site to connect to that page(s), that would involve redoing graphics, changing things on every page etc. Therefore, the price for that page(s) is disproportionally higher than the per page cost of the set package. But absolutely we can do it, and very often it is an ideal way to go.
Tell us what you have in mind and we can tell you whether you are better off to add pages to the set realtor package or move up to the Silver Level Design.
Generally adding pages to the set realtor package will be between $150 and $200 per page.
Web Hosting & Domains
Q: What Is a Domain Name?
A domain name is a first level web address (www.yourname.com). It signifies you have your own server, or in most cases, your own "virtual" server, self contained web entity. Large web hosting compainies for example host thousands of domains on their huge servers. The first level address is the important part. This would be a second level address: www.otherdomain.com/your folder/your page.
Q: Do I Really Need A Domain Name
Yes. If you are serious about an internet presence, you really need one. It's more professional, looks better for promotion purposes in ads and on printed materials and is shorter so it is easier for people to remember. Perhaps most important, search engines favor domain names (or what they refer to as "root URLs.") Some openly state they will not consider ranking anything but root urls, many other engines are moving toward this, and all favor them over second level addresses. Having a domain name, however, does not automatically mean you will be ranked by a search engine. (See Search Engine Submission.)
Q: I already have a domain name. How will that work?
If you have registered a domain name, what you have purchased is the right to use that name for a certain period of time, 1 year, 2 years, etc. That domain name is "parked" somewhere. If for example, you purchased your domain name through Network Solutions, it is parked on their server. In order to have web site, the site itself must be created and you will need space (web hosting) to house it.
If you have a present web site and want to use that domain name for the new web site we create for you, that can be done.
Search Engine Optimization & Submission
How long does it take to get listed on a search engine?
Once we have submitted your site to a particular search engine or directory, it can take anywhere from a few weeks to (in certain instances) a couple months for them to visit and put your web site in their index. However, it can take up to a year to before you see your site move up in rankings.
